Would $4000 more, be worth 50k less miles?

That looks to be a clean car inside and out. Bring up defects like how the headlights are yellowing and the dent on the driver's side quarter panel where the rear bumper meets it. Offer him $9,500 or $9,600. Remember you still have to pay the DMV fees and do minor maintenance. That should run you under $10k. Good luck with it man.

thanks a lot sc300max i didn't even really notice those defects. btw how much is it to do a 97+ conversion? if its not too much i might just wait to find a really clean good condition 92+ 5spd and do a conversion.

Use this as an estimate to get the price for a 97+ conversion: http://www.intellexual.net/faq.html#061

As for me I bought a 93 sc300 with about 116k miles on it for $5k. I got everything for the 97+ conversion except for the rear bumper/extensions and it cost me around $900 or so from Carson Toyota (Good prices there). The thing is that when you put the conversion on at the body shop they would have to do alot of blending with the paint and that means the costs go up. So, I decided to just paint the whole car for about $2,200 with the conversion on. That means total cost was $5k + $2,200 + $900 = ~$8,100. As for DMV fees I think I paid about $150.

I'd say if you can let him know how pricey to replace those cloudy headlights and find some minor cosmetic work, I'd say 8,500. That's just me though. Did that owner keep maintenance records ??

You should run a carfax for sure and see if you can get the vin# so you can get the service history at a Lexus dealer.

Agreed, if he has no maintenance get it checked up @ a independent Toyota/Lexus shop. Other wise it's not worth his asking price of 10k, not to sound like a low baller or anything.
