question about a tool
does anybody know the name of that tool that makes ball joint screws come out where ever there sitting in its like a V with a bar in the middle that u use with a wrench??? whats it called and how much is it?>?
Its really called a ball joint remover/press tool. Fairly cheap. varies in price. harborfreighttools.com as well as many other tool sites, sears, your local tool truck. There are several different styles and sizes make sure you choose the correct one. hope this helps
A ball joint press is normally used to install press-in ball joints into the control arms, the tool you described is commonly called a "picklefork", or just Ball Joint Remover.
I just replaced my front wheel bearing on the car since I didn't want to trash the rubber boots on my new control arms. This was done using a tool that I made from round stock, and a large threaded rod. Harbor Freight has a set to do the same thing, but I'm not sure if it will fit our cars.
