Need a clutch.... recomendations?
Well I burned out my clutch.... My engine is pretty much shot. So im going with a 1jz swap. What kind of clutch would you guys recommend that can hold the stock boost and possibly a future upgrade to around 350hp.
Or should I play it safe and get a low mileage mk3 tranny being that mine has 144k

If you're not going to exceed 350hp, I say get some good Redline transmission fluid and stay with the w58 transmission...it shifts much smoother than the R154 and 6 speed getrag supra transmissions. Regarding clutch, I only have experience with RPS and am not a fan. So, anything besides RPS please
. I've heard good things about SPEC and Centerforce Dual Friction clutches fwiw..

well my rps street max has held up to a flogging at 9 psi on a t61 ... but if i could go back i would have gone r154 casue i plan to drop compression eventually... but other than a stiff *** pedal the street max has held up GREAt
I definately cant have a stiff pedal. I need something close to stock feel. My knees tend to get sore from all the shifting in the city.
Has anyone experienced some ebay clutches? I bought one last yr from there and it held up pretty well untill I burned it out (literally) lol I know how the forum is about ebay links but Its a stage 3 clutch for the sc.... Or the eClutchmaster for the supra.

Hands down.
Center Force Dual Friction Clutch. Holds around 550 tq and feels just like stock. I love it. I have 3 other friends that have it as well on their sc's and love it too.

Yea, I'm one of them, everything's stock on my car, so no extra power to test it, but I love being able to have a little fun with the clutch when I want to. Feels just like the stock clutch too, doesn't feel any stiffer on the leg.

I just had the RPS max plate and disc put in about 700 miles ago. The disc is Aisin and I'm pretty sure the presure plate was a painted Aisin too. I would not pay the money again for the RPS due to it probably being stock replacement. Plus the RPS does not come with the bearings.
does it feel different when it starts to bite? can you launch better? ect
thx
