Geez man. I know it brings closure to this but dam. Well I say you keep tabs on ebay to see if anything you had pops up. They usually throw stuff on ebay after they steal it. I don't think they would install that stuf on there own car cuz sooner or later someone who knows you will see it and all hell will break loose. Good luck man.

Wayne,
I no expert, but I don't think your average thief is looking to steal a 1J, tranny, interior, etc. Especially from an uncommon ride like an SC. It's a person with an SC or is going to sell to someone who has one. I'd start watching Ebay, and some other lexus forums. Hopefully you have the vin from the engine (even if it is a Japanese vin) and can id it. Glad you at least found something. Sorry.

I don't believe J-specs have VIN #'s stamped on the block... Wayne, I have to agree with Chawk60! Your setup was stolen for a reason and for someone... It's definitely going to eventually pop up at one of our meets! I'vw got my eyes open as i'm sure others do to...I'm sure there will be a slip up somewhere... We'll keep in touch...

Dan

Yeah, they stripped the whole car leaving just the carpet? Yes, someone who knows what you was doing to your car was plotting. This definetly does not sound like a regular thief looking for some audio, or just a joyride. Person or persons knew what they was going after. Sorry to hear about this, This is why I dont post what im doing to my car, or show pics like that. Too much people lurk the forums

They completely gutted my car leaving only the carpet inside and a completley empty trunk. . Time to collect my money from the insurance and move on with my life.
Brother.. My condolences. I know exactly how you feel. I am waiting for a check from the insurance too. Give me ring when you can. Damn dude I know the feeling.

Question

Wayne I'm sorry to hear the bad news. But what I dont get, is how did they take your car? The SC has a security system that will disable the starter. And even if they tow it away they had to open the car to put in N and take off the parking brake. Does it look like a lexus key was used? Or is there any damage to the key silinders? Sorry!

Wayne,

You should put a list of all the parts you had and if you have any detailed pictures include them too. That way we can all be on the look out on craigs list, ebay, other lexus forums or even meets. Just maybe someone will slip and we can shoot you an email and you can pin point who might of played a hand in stealing you car. We are a big community here and we just might run into something.

Also a new forum should be opened here in Club Lexus for cars that are stolen. That way we can all help out our fellow members here and perhaps recover or help find the scumbags that steal our cars and report them to the proper authorities.

we have rwd cars so all tow trucks have to do is grab the rear wheels and they out case closed ! with fwd cars you have to put the hand brake down to tow it and/or neutral
