Default Time for a suspension upgrade??

So my car sits lower than i think it should be. Typically that would be good, but in this case, i'm thinking its just due to age and wear from the road. Current mileage is 167K. I have about 1.5 to 2 finger gap front and back. Now i'm looking at this guys ride in the for sale section. I need the expertise of the suspension gurus. Do ya'll think its time for me to upgrade? Heres a pic of my ride and one from the for sale section who's sitting like a monster truck (no offense )

Is it something that can escalate to something worse??? The thing is coilovers are out of the question, way way tooo much money. The thing is if i'm gonna do something to my car, it has to pass by my dad, regardless if i'm paying or he is. If perhaps it can cause problems, then he would reconsider. Any input on that?
