Coil over set up...please
Guys,
I don't know where to start. How do I set the tension on the spring? With the shock fully extended the spring perches should be adjusted to a length that will keep the spring captured. I figure no more than a quarter of an inch of compression would be needed as a min. With the coilover mounted and the car weight on the spring it should be further adjusted so that the weight of the car depressed/compressed the spring HOW FAR? I want the softest ride possible because I think that will be firm enuf as the spring compression rate was 30 percent over stock. I think you also want the shock to have sufficient compression travel and a couple of inches extension travel. Couple and sufficient were the operative words there and I need numbers or approximates. Secondly, what is considered stock ride height minus an inch? I don't want to be wiping out the front lip, for sure. If I get it to low I think stuff bottoms out and the ride gets harsh.
Can you walk me through a set-up?
I am keaving town on the 16th and will be in LA and SD for the next couple of weeks. Is ther a shop that any can recommend that will not want the farm? Anybody with the knowhow and facility interested in a steak dinner+?
Thanks for your help
John
