Okay.. So im cruising on the freeway about 55mph.. then i noticed my speed begin to drop.. So i floor it.. no response.. so I take the next exit.. I hit a red light and i tap on the gas.. extreme sluggish response from the accelerator.. I then pull over to my girlfriend's house and smoke comes out of my engine bay.. First thought to my head was bad tranny fluid or vaccuum valve leak.. or a tranny oil leak.. I checked the levels on my tranny oil.. seems perfectly fine but is running kind of hot. I then cycle through all the gears with a 5second interveral for each gear back and forth for a bout 5 minutes. I start it up and it still runs sluggish but a little bit better than before. Can anyone shed light on my problem? I'm taking it in to the shop tomorrow to get it checked out for leaks and such. Please help a fellow SC owner out thank you in advance. Addition to this.. Ive lost about 70-80% of normal acceleration power.. It feels like the automatic tranny is stuck in 4th or 5th gear and hasn't returned to 1st to get the car rolling normally.

yea.. its normal in neutral... reverse.. LOW.. 2nd.. park all work. IT just feels really sluggish in drive. Feels like its stuck in a high gear and wont shift back to first to get the car rolling.
FOUND the problem fellas! My cat converter is bad.. So i drove it to the gas station down the road to get some air.. Then i accidently dropped my cap for my tire then.. I saw my cats glowing redish orange! Ho ****.. SO i read up on some stuff on this and I found a guy who had the same exact problem.. So im going to the exhaust shop tomorrow.. Guys fill me in on what exhausts are the best for this make and year?
Hi, I have exact same problem with my 92 SC4 rights now, and looking to find some decent Cat Converters, but I found a thread the otherday, guy's saying that the problem also could be a "Bad Ignition Coil". I want to see if you' ve solved this problem by changing your CATs( I believe there're 3 of them). Or is it ignition coil? Thanks, and good luck.
