Default SC Lip packaging question

For those of you who had the SC4 front lip and sold it, how did u guys arrange the packing for the front lip? Can I just cover it up with some sort of wrapping and slap on a label? It is poly urethane and its flexible? Plz advice. I need to ship one out and I want to do it right. Thanks guys

If you really want to make sure it arrives safe, I'd get a good sized box and use lots of bubble wrap and/or peanuts.

On the other hand, it'll be much cheaper without a box. I shipped a carbon fiber wing for a WRX/STi a while back... it was about 4' long and would've required a decent sized box (much smaller than the box required for a lip, though). Dropping the wing off at a UPS, FedEx, and DHL shipping locating would've cost around $100. Instead, I bought 100' of large bubble wrap for $20 and some packing tape and went to town. No box, just bubble wrap at a DHL central location near the airport cost me only $9 to ship, including insurance.

Default Works for shipping surfboards, too......

If you are going to use a box, a box that holds screen doors is perfect.

Hopefully, your local hardware store can spare one, or if not, you'll have to wait till they make a sale.

Those lips are pretty durable. I've seen a few that have survived some pretty bad front end crashes with nothing but a few scuffs. You can just wrap the heck out of it with some bubble wrap and tape, but from my experience it seems packages that aren't in boxes seem more likely to get "lost" in shipping. You can always make your own custom fit box with a little planning and something like a large appliance box. (Refrigerator or water heater boxes would be a good size.) If you have any wherehouses or other industrial areas nearby they would be a good place to start.

try appliance stores. they always have refrigerator boxes that you can cut and make into a big letter type thing and can fill the rest with peanuts. similar idea but is an option if the screen door box doesnt work.
