Aftermarket wheels recommendations
Hello All,
I'm currently running OEM SupraTT wheels (235/45 & 255/40) on my 97 SC300. I like the contact patch & how the car looks from behind. The wheels (as you know) are 17" diam., 8" wide Fronts & 9.5" Rears. When the tires wear out, I'll be thinking about replacing them with 245/45 & 275/40 sizes if I keep these wheels.
Another alternative, is to change to aftermarket wheels in 17" or at best 18", but going slightly wider at the same.
I'm interested in any recommendations you all have on wheels, not too expensive, heavy or gaudy, NOTHING larger than 18s (I don't want the horse-drawn wagonwheel-look).
Also not interested in wheels that are so WIDE that make the tires stretch. IMO, that's just awful & is very dangerous.
Thanks,

Thanks for the replies. As far as wheel prices (the SC is my daily driver), I'd say around $ 300 each.
I'm familiar with CCWs. I remember when these wheels first came out many years ago. I always thought they were a really good value then, but they have gotten way up in price now. There are now many better looking (and probably stronger) wheels than CCWs that cost a whole lot less.
Also, as a daily driver, I didn't want the really large diameter wheels because the ride would be just horrible. IMO, there are a lot of good wheels around (great looks & price), except certain manufacturers charge outrageous prices.

Check out D2 AutoSport. They are vendors here on CL and should be able to hook you up with something that looks nice without breaking the piggy bank
