Default Question for the 98+ SC4 guys

People with the 98+ SC4's...is it just me or do these newer VVT-i engines tick a whole lot more than the previous 1UZ engine?
I remember my recently disposed of 92 SC3 ticking some after the engine was killed, but nothing quite compared to the frequency and sound level of my new SC4.

absolutely love it. The 98+ have 290hp 300tq, compared to the 260 in the 97 and the 250 in the 92-96 (i think). I wish it was a bit faster since all my friends have crazier v8's, 2004 545i, 06 Stang GT.
