help with headlamp removal.

hi. im lame.
i used the search and read how to remove the headlamp--removing the two nuts from under the wheelwell and all that jazz.

what im having trouble with is the actual removal of the headlamp.
it wiggles out a bit but then gets stuck. im taking out the drivers side one.
when facing it ive tried to take the left side out first but nothing.
ive tried taking the right side out first and nothing.
ive tride taking it out evenly and nothing.

so how did you all remove it? did you have to force it out?

wiggle it side to side while pulling it out, it's somewhat wedged in there and won't easily come out. You do have to use a bit of force...not too much but enough. Don't be scared and make sure not to scratch up your bumper in the process...blue painters tape may help

There are 3 little metal clips at the bottom on the headlamp that might catch on the bumper. Also, there is a little plastic guide pin on the very tip of the headlamp right by the high beams that can get caught in the bumper. slowly jiggle the headlamp to clear these parts and you are home free.

It mite help to angle the headlights upward slightly as well. Towards the inside is a sharp point, don't kno why it's there, but that tends to get caught on the inside of the bumper easily. So you have to aim up slightly and pull a little upwards along with pulling it out.

you can see that pointy part on the far left slightly under the perimeter of the circle.

Definately use tape, i learned the hard way that it will help... now i have scratches that look like tears on both sides near the lamp

kinda ot but is there a diagram of where all the clips/screws/bolts of the bumper?..i want to get to high beams...

did you remove the connection to the lights? :)

i poped the inside of the lows UP and OUT, with force...then i just wiggled em out, :)

highs are only a couple bolts, you might be able to get to the one when the low beam is out, my bumper is a <1minute removal, so i just get to do that when i please :p
