Questionnaire *please answer*
I'm still trying to determine why some SC cars reset when you press the brakes while driving. The more responses (your car doesn't have to be resetting for you to answer) I get the better of a chance that I can possibly derive a solution. Hopefully we can find out the problem!
Has your SC ever experienced (or still is) resetting?
How frequent is your resetting problem?
Does it ever occur under certain circumstances?
Do you keep your lights on 'Auto' or manually turn them on?
What year is your SC?
Is it a 300 or 400?
Have you ever replaced the ground cable on your SC?
Does your SC have the cellular telephone installed?
Did it used to have a cellular telephone installed?
What size car battery is currently installed?
Please check your diagnostic bay (directly above battery, 2 plastic philip screws covering it), do you have a fuse for the telephone (blue 15)?
Please check your fuse box on the left of your driver side footwell under the carpet. Is there a metal extension protruding from one of the ends of the IGN fuse (7.5)?
Please add any info you think that may be pertinent to resetting. THANKS!

I have not experienced resetting in my Lexus, but I have in my other car. The problem was an electrical short. I had to spend weeks trying to hunt it down, but I finally found it - the resetting has stopped, and has never returned. It wasn't easy, but it was a simple short. The short was behind the instrument cluster on a wiring harness. I appeared the wire simply rubbed on a piece of sharp metal.
Don't know if that might be the case for the Lexus.
Anyway - I just wanted to reply.

Yes, it used to reset. NO more though.
Reset after a few minutes of driving, I'd have to either brake, use a turn signal or turn something on for it to ghost.
1993 SC 300
No replaced ground
Yes had cell phone, I removed.
Optima Yellow top & 175Amp alternator upgrade.
Yes fuse for phone, tried removing back then and ghosting still ghosted.
No prong on IGN fuse before. I added one for my wired in radar detector and also run to the dual electric fans from it.
When I upgraded to the battery the problem never reoccured.
take care wiz.
