I think a couple more years (I voted 5) granted you can always mod but I think the ? here is the car stock. You can mod anything to look like anything with enough cash but the ? here should really be stock IMO

 

Find a new girl. SC's are priceless there are plenty of fish in the see. Edit: I have a keeper. She love's my SC and wants to get one for herself.

 

My SC is 16 years old, and it still looks good enough to make me stop and stare.

but, i dont care what she thinks i love it. she wont drive drive it and will barley ride w/ me we usually take her suv.

i know, iknow but ive been married for 15 years and have 4 kids

The car already looks dated inside out. They dont make cars with smooth line anymore and the interoir looks like a boat Dosent mean i will get rid of of my baby though .Only a couple new cars can look as almost as good as a sc .

 

Granted, this is totally my opinion ...

The Lexus SC made from 92-00 Classifies as what I'd call, a truely "Timeless" design. Auto makers make plenty of "Good" looking or "Sexy" cars (ie 350z, G35/7, 335's etc etc.) but many designs speak to the trends in the auto industry in that given time from which they were made. Think about the cars that were being made at beginning of the 90's from high-end makes. BMW's 3,5 and 7 series were very boxy and still showing their aged design origins of the mid-late 80's. The 8 series was very modern for its time, but priced well out of many people's range. Mercedes Benz E and S Classes were quite striking from the interior at their time, but their body styles were also very comperable to other German auto makes. My roomate has a 91' E class Mercedes that's been relatively well maintained and preserved. My SC blows that thing out of the water. Bar none. Even he admits it.

Again, in my opinion Infinti and Lexus broke much ground with innovative and mass appealing designs. Infiniti's Q45; If anyone remembers their old school rap, was one of the most talked about luxury cars on the streets. Although by today's standards I would agree that it's styling as aged.

To dub a car "Timeless" says alot. Frankly; and I do think I speak for many CL members, the SC 300/400 holds its own very strongly against the mass appealing autos of this current decade. Has it aged? of course, but I like to think the SC is like a fine wine. Give it time, and see how furthermore it stands out from the rest of the crowd.



....I'm very curious to see how the current generation SC will survive the test of time.

ONLY BECAUSE... there was no never option.
I plan to drive this car until it is no longer possible to drive.

and on that date I will find the beastliest new toyota motor out and
revive my precious SC back to the street queen she is!

how many cars out there perform this well for the price?
how many cars out there are as reliable for the price?

the answer is simply none.


Im not saying i wouldnt buy a 350z or an s2000, but it wouldnt be because i think my SC300 looks old.

thats like saying a 69 stingray with a 454 big block and chrome bumpers looks old. really, who cares.

 

I have a 96 SC with a few upgrades and getting ready to install my turbo kit which I The have sitting in my basement for 4 months. I have owned the car for 5 years and where ever I go I am always asked if the car is new. The paint is original and looks better than my 2005 SRT4. These cars are the best. I will not give up my SC.

 

drive down the road, look at the cars, 80% look alike, we are in the nice 20% that don't, but we have been there since '92

 

if ur girl likes one of those cars, just spend less money buying those, by bodykit, slam on some rims, and 2jz-gte make it push 600+ and show her why u love ur car. haha. or at least that's what i'd do.

I think the key words that everyone has been noting is "Timeless" and "Classic". I fall into those two categories. Everytime I see my SC3 I fall in love over and over again. I have this theory that the SC300/400 will be a classic 15 years from now. The same way that the Corvette has a following, I think it'll be the same with the SC class, but not the 430s.

 

My brain hurts just trying to understand what you r question actually is ...

That being said ... my '93 SC400 is like new with just a few dings and chips, just what you would expect from a "mature" woman aging gracefully. Her major "plus" is that she only has 48K miles on her legs so she has a ways to go.

Based upon this and the fact that the engines on the SC's are bullet-proof I would say that my car has about 45 more years on her ... at least.

 

Well I parked my ride next to my friends IS350, and wow the car looked old really quick.
