hey guys, ill get straight to the point. this is my first lexus and my first time doing something simple on it such as changing sparkplugs and wires. i got it done. how ever now the car feels as if it is misfiring. i went back and checked the connections they seem to be fine. the RPMs refuse to raise fast enough (i cant even spin the tires anymore). what could it be? i cant figure it out. one of my friends thinks i need new manifold gaskets, that it could have been damaged...? anyway id appreciate if anyone could help.
According to his or her profile, lexnewb has an SC300. It also seems like lexnewb developed the same problem I have. Unlike lexnewb, mine started acting up all-of-the-sudden. I did not touch anything in the engine and did not see anything loose or missing.
Could it be something simple like this? I'm stumped, so it might be time to make a "donation" to my local Lexus dealer.
Sounds like the spark plugs were not pregapped. I suggest taking a look at the gapping. This happened to me before. Made my car sound like if it had cams.
