More MPG Help
On the trip back, with the same conditions and staying within the speed limit (65-70 depending on the location) it averaged 29mpg.
The car has not had a tuneup in who knows how long. It still has the original spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and the air filter is dirty. The tires are underinflated as well.
Like Kaydee said a few posts up, it's all in your driving style. The car is capable of burning a little less fuel, if you're willing to sacrifice some acceleration.
I'm currently testing fuel economy from work to home, which is not exactly a 100% highway trip, and I assume that will yield worse numbers (maybe in the 22,23mpg range).
A good tuneup, starting with air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, oil change, coolant flush, properly inflated tires, and removing all the junk we tend to lug around with us, should improve the gas mileage on any vehicle. With all that said, we can't keep you off the gas pedal, so in the end it's all up to the driver.
Filled up tonight and mixed city/highway driving yielded 24.7mpg. Needless to say I am happy with the way I drive this car, and the way it treats me back.
i just bought my sc400 like 2 weeks ago it drives great but the gas burns allot faster then i exepected , so how many gallons of gas does the sc max out at ?
Right now I'm at ~380miles give or take 5 miles, and the light isn't even on yet. Driving conservatively will yield you the best results.

Don't know what's up with that.
I'm thinking about driving like a granny for one tank to see if I can break 20.
This is ALL city driving too, probably with clogged cats.
I have no idea how i'm getting such good mileage.
i hope after i get all the oils , filter ...... all get some more mpg if not well all b driving real slow but gotta do something about the acceleration its slow unless you floor it
On the way back from TN I knocked down 27.5 on the highway driving conservatively.
If you have larger rims your trip ODO will be off a bit. Fortunately we had a Prius with us with no mods...so we used that mileage from point a to point b
If I go by my ODO its about 25 MPG
And I don't even have my Magnecore wires or platinum plugs yet!
