my main questions:
1) whats the outlet size on the s&s headers?
2) what diamater cats did you go with? part # if possible?
3) looks like 2.5" from the catback at least, is this right?
4) what mufflers/tips did you use? magnaflow has a crappy selection of 2.5" universal mufflers.
5) how does it sound!?
Well belive it or not, I bought all this stuff from a CL member so i may not have all the Part numbers but I will tell you what I know.
1) the headers outlets are 2 1/2 I am fairly sure, maybe 3"? I will measure them.
2) & 3) complete Set up is 2 1/2 from headers back
4) They are magnaflow tips
5) I sounds cool as hell! Nt to intrusive but when you stand on it it sounds good! I love it!

good stuff thanks for the answers, if ur sure its 2.5" including cats and back, thats all i need to know, but if you do get a change to measure the cats, thats the biggest importance. i'm trying to figure out what will fit. thanks a lot! i bet it sounds great. enjoy. i'm hoping for a good jump in hp/tq as well.

That's one hell of an all-at-once mod list. I bet you were scared ****less when you gained all of that power at once.

Were the headers one of the things you got from a member here? Do you mind if I ask what they ran you? I'd also like to know how you/the shop went about installing them and what was needed for the install. Do you still have to loosen the motor mounts to get them in?

Great build you have going. Do you have a thread started for your super charger project yet?

Yes I bought the headers from a CL member barley used for $420
My cousin and I installed them, they are tough to do, but we didnt pull the mounts. we used swivel sockets, long wrenches, short wrenches, short sockets and pry bars. It was tough.

No thread yet for the super charger but I have a pretty solid plan.
Thanks

Hey those Mandrel bends are looking pretty nice. I noticed you had your X-pipe put up near the cats. How is the low end and high end pick up? Great work on the mods!

YO, hey dude, u gotta get some sound clips. I have a 98 sc400 white just like yours. Im planning on just getting a resonator delete. U have any input on that? i lifted my car today and saw the piping that leads into the 3rd cat is terrible.

o nvm, just saw ur engine bay, i think the 97 exhaust and 98 are different

Thanks, Its really hard to sort out the actual performance impact the exhaust had because I also installed a Dragon TC and a LSD at the same time. I have noticed a stronger top end but the biggest impact seems to be in throttle response, it is so crisp. What I really like is how deep it sounds.

I am not sure what you will gain by deleting the resonator besides it may be a little louder. In response to the stock exhaust, Mine was pretty sad looking to, I don’t know if the 97 and 98 have different exhaust but they do have a few other performance variances, I wish I could have started with a 98-2000 model but I have what I have.
