The SSRs are pretty high quality rims and 18 inch is pretty much the minimum size that I would run on for aftermarket wheels, providing that it is a simple not-so-busy design such as those SSR, GramLights, or Volk TE37s. If you're going to run 18s, use a higher sidewall to compensate. Most late model sport cars that are shorter than our lengthy SCs comes with stock wheels that are larger than 17s. Most come with 18" stock nowadays. However, if your going to run with a busier intricate design with rivets, go with 19". Aesthetically, 19" would give you the most porportional look for our cars. Heck, the M3s come stock with 19"
SSR all the way. The SSR Type-C/Competition is probably one of the lightest wheels currently available for a reasonable amount of money.
Lotus Elise has extremely light wheels straight from the factory...but many owners switch to the SSR Comps because they are even lighter. The styling of the wheel doesnt fit the SC very well, but for sports use/function, it's the way to go.
The weight difference between Volk TE37's 17" and SSR Comp 18"s may be a moot point, as they are very similar in weight, despite the size difference.
SSR Competitions actually weigh LESS than TE37s when comparing same sizes. Contrary to popular belief, and the stuff magazines like Super Street feed to people....TE37's are *not* the lightest wheels around.
Old school SSR for the win
