Welcome to CL! Like all of us here you will love your SC no matter what you paid for it. You failed to mention what kind of condition the car was in. Kelley Blue Book states that $10,600 is the average asking price for a dealer selling a 1992 SC400 w/102,000 miles that is in EXELLENT condition. If it's been maintained and there are no cracked or damaged interior panels, blacked out climate control or instrument needles then I think the price you paid isn't unreasonable. Although you could have tralked them down a bit it isn't really anything to lose sleep over. Enjoy your time here and most of all enjoy your new car!
There's a dealership Reputable near my house that has a 98 black on black sc400 with 107k and they're asking 11500. 10+ for a 92 imo is a lot. But if you thought it was good then there's no problem. Have fun with it 1st but hopefully not last lexus. I'm picking mine up on saturday and I can't wait. Already bought tt sway, rims, looking to get shocks and tires soon.
I don't know...if you have been on autotrader lately.... our cars are getting pretty popular....I would say she could have maybe got one for about 2k cheaper....
So did you pay $15,900?? or $10,900 - $5,000 trade = you owe $5,900?
I know for sure you need to compare if you want to know if you got a good deal or not. I paid 12K for a '96 SC400 w/ 91K mi, but it was deler maintained since it was purchased and I have full service history. Also, there are areas of the country where prices are much higher.
Example in Chicago area I actually got a good deal... but compared to NY, CA, FL, not so much
Anyway.. Welcome!! Lots of great stuff here & great people, too. Enjoy your ride
Yea i think i would have to agree with majority of the members here. I bought my first lexus at the end of January of this year. It's a 95 SC-400 and i was able to get it for $7600 w/ 100k miles. And this was in mint condition.
I think people across the states need to start paying less for cars in general. The only reason the prices are so high, is because somewhere out there, people are willing to pay them. We should all go on strike from buying used cars!! (only because I already own 8 and dont need anymore lol)

The Price Of The Lexus Was 10,900. I Received 6k For My 95 Legend Sc (which I Owned)......so I Spent Roughly 5k.............god You Guys Are Shredding Me Here. But I Guess I Ask And Ye Shall Receive.......
No your not getting shredded. If your happy, your happy.
I got a great deal, better than some, maybe not as good as someone else.
Next time I could get totally ripped off?
The big thing everyone is saying.... Have fun with it, drive it, dump a bunch of money into parts for it.
Lose money when you sell it.
