roll pins backing out of the shift linkage, a common problem in these transmissions.

Coastal-
When actual conversion process(ie setting up chassis for swap) begins be sure to post what parts and processes were needed and done. This would be a good search refrence point(maybe sticky) for future members.

Nice thread so far, not many people know of the internal workings and issues of a transmission. Good post.

I'll be taking pics throughout the entire process, mostly during the swap, I also have a parts breakdown on the Lexus parts needed, I'm buying all new parts which made it a bit easier, but getting all the part #'s togather was a pain in the a**. I'll post up a scan of the schematic soon.

took the diff apart for a quick check, found a few worn spots on the ring gear and a couple worn diff gears, but no major damage. these need to be checked for chipped teeth and possible cracks in the diff gears.

did you order each part one by one or did you buy a kit for the tranny?
