I have a 98 sc300 project going on. I've searched this forum and havn't seen a solid answer.
I want to know if the 98-00 SC300 A341E is interchangable with the 93-98 Supra TT A341E. Are the electronics the same so it's plug and play? Could I use the same drive shaft?
The electronics part would work, but you would have to switch to the SC400 drive shaft. You would also have to use the TT bellhousing and torque converter, you'll need a new tail-shaft flange.
So no, its not just a direct swap.
Oh, they are also A340e's

Did you mean the supra TT auto's are not A341E's but they are A340E's?
Or where you saying they came in both A340Es and A341Es? I looked it up in a transmission database for transmission rebuilders. It only shows the A341E for the TT supra AT. But for the earlier SC's were A340E's and the later SC's were A341E's.
So does the SC400 Driveshaft bolt to the 98 SC300 Diff?
Did you ever do the Supra TT swap...It appears no one has done this swap yet...I have searched and searched...Nothing solid..Infact most don't know the differences between the Lexus and Supra TT tranny's...I am going nuts trying to find out, different answers for everthing in every thread..Just unbelieveable....
If you guys are looking for a supra auto tranny as an upgrade, its not going to be much of an upgrade. They don't handle much more hp if any comepared to the stock lexus tranny. Stock toyo trannys just suck. If you looking for a high hp tranny, you would have to go with a TH400. If its something for the streets with moderate hp, a built toyo auto should be able to do the job. Boost Logic seems to have pretty good built autos from the results i've seen.
Supra uses an electronic kick-down; SC uses a cable.
From what I gathered looking at the internals of each, the Supra will shift only slightly firmer than the SC.

I have had a built TT tranny on my setup for sometime now . I had to switch to an AEM ecu to control it.
Swapping in a TT tranny is a good option if your not ready for the TH400 upgrade. I mention the TH400 because its the one tranny upgrade that seems to last under high hp conditions. IMHO.
