no the 01-present GS are 2 stage. you'll need a bag from 98-00 GS, RX for the chrome lexus badge in the middle but i think those won't fit your wheel..

 

Arrr this is pissing me off. I really want to put this wheel on ASAP. No we learned the hard way that the pre 2001 GS ones dont fit. If worse comes to worse, I'll get a dual stage airbag just to fill in the void and not connect it.

 

Why do you NEED a single stage? A Dual stage won't work in that application or are you just picky about what kind of airbag you have....installing a dual stage should still give you airbag function, correct?

 

From my understanding, dual stage airbags does not work with earlier single stage airbag systems that are on 1st gen lexuses

 

yeah the 2 stage bags wont deploy on a pre-01 car. that sucks dude

i know it wont fit your wheel but thats the only one thatll work with the 1 stage airbags. try finding another wheel i guess.

 

This is pretty much final. Im just going to find an airbag that fits. Im just not going to connect the airbag.

 

Yo, he just posted a pic of a SINGLE stage airbag (so you know) That is not a GS airbag, it is a RX. It is exactly what you need for your steering wheel conversion. Dual stage airbags have 2 plugs on the back, and single stage airbags have 1 (exactly like what jonathan posted)... 250 is kinda steep (imo) but it appears to be in great shape (no crease lines from where the airbag will split when it deploys that start to appear in some after a while)... hope this helps... -=nathan

I have an 02 SC430 wheel with an 01 RX bag with an adaptor and it works fine
