Default Air Intake Boot

Whats goin on guys? So the other day I start my car and it stalls on me. So I try again and notice that the RPM falls so low that the car tries to gas itself back to a normal RPM but still dies. The on;y way I could get it to stay at a normal RPM was to gas it right after I turn the key to about 3 or 4K RPM. I popped the hood and noticed that somehow my air intake boot ripped in half and air was just bypassing the MAF sensor. I called the dealer about replacing the intake boot and they quoted me $70! Its a rubber tube that cost maybe a few bucks to make. Can I just use any kind of rubber hose? I was gonna go to home depot and just get one that matched the diameter and length of the boot. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I would do the HD trick until I could find one in good condition here in the classifieds section.

PM Aliga. I'm sure he'll have one!
