I want to rebuild my gear box. I d like to do it myself. Not sur if it is worth it. Or should i buy a rebuilt one. I also want to change my rear end. Is there any other lexus rear end that i can use. Or can i make my old one into a limted slip.

The W58 manual tranny is the same as the Supra NA tranny. But it only holds to about 450 HP. If your looking to make more power eventually, you're better off finding a R154 tranny from a Soarer. It's direct fit and holds twice the power.

rising_sun is correct, if you plan on running an lsd on the w58 be very cautious as the tranny does not like them on a 400 hp application. rebuilding the unit is as easy as rebuilding any trans just make sure to double check all your clearances and make sure all your torque settings are correct.
