I have a 1994 SC400. I got my car back from the shop and when I got the car home discovered that there was a vacuum hose hanging loose.
There are two hoses connected to the "vapor recovery system" canister - the larger of the hoses is connected to the driver's side of the engine and then that and another tube go towards the gas tank. The tube that is loose must be to provide vacuum to the canister but I don't know where it goes on the engine.
Does it go to the VSV?
Would not having vacuum to the canister affect engine performance?
remove the can and the 2 vacuum lines and plug off the ports, and run a hose to connect the 2 fittings together where the canister was.. problem solved

Wouldn't that still leave me with a loose hose end?
