is a 2 inch drop with espliers and tt rims with 235 and 285's going to rub?

bryan, my car is dropped more than that with the same rims. I don't have any probs.

 

Espelirs will drop it more than 2" (well, on my Soarer it did). 235's will rub at full lock and at speed up front, but normal driving it's not bad. I've got 265's on the rears and it doesn't rub at all. I will be getting rid of mine though as it's too low for Aussie speedhumps and general driving around

what rims were you using? I had the tt rims and i dropped more than 2 inches no prob.

 

I have Espelirs with 18s - 235s in the front and 265s in the rear. I dont have any rubbing issues.

Brian - If you'd like, you are welcome to test your TT wheels and 285s on my car.

I'm running 18x8.5" wheels... planning on fitting 19x8" (or 8.5") front and 19x9.5" (or 10~10.5") rear, but then again I'm changing my suspension as I've been warned by the popo

 

You guys with the Espelirs, did you install the camber kit?

 

I used to rub in back before I had my fenders rolled 265 rears on 18x9.5 with +35mm offset. Camber kit nah its not my daily for much longer.

 

oic, well.. i guess i will conduct a physical test,.,. on kyles car,.,.
for some reason, even with stock suspension with some weight in car if i drive over a bump it rubs cause my rear tire gets scuff marks,.,.

I am running with OEM springs with front 235/45/17-8.5J (potenza) and rear 275/40/17-9.5J (sumitomo). I have a rubbing issue on my rear tires. My car just got an old springs. I guess the best tires fit for SC300 would be front 235/40or45/18 8.5 or 9J and rear 255/265/40/18-10or10.5J. In order not to have a rubbing issue. Otherwise we need to bend both side of tire house end arch. If SC carries 19inch rims or greater, riding will be limited and not recommended to drive a normal driving condition. A car cannot run faster in straight and corner with 19s. (I tried before with my friends car and also he told me the same thing. He is running with 18s now) Of course, at a glance, bigger rims get better looking on sc agreed.

I am planning to change the springs both front and rear. I wonder any advantages changing to Espelir rather than eibach? I prefer not so stiff riding. If any recommendations changing springs, please let me know. Of course lower the looks better than a bit lower. I want to lower down my car soooon...[sorry my broken English...]

 

Ah, that's why you rub. You have aftermarket rims. Bryan and I have tt rims and he shouldn't be rubbing at all since I have the same rims as him and lowered a lot more than him. You know why you have marks? Probably because you have a blown shock like you told me. Anyways just drop in some tein basics and call it a day

kaukau, your probably rubbing on those sizes because of your offset. Those sizes should be fine with the correct offset. If you are going to change your springs, i'd suggest you change your shocks too. The old shocks won't last long with the new more aggressive springs that you put in(also the ride quality will be really bad because of this). You don't want to go through the trouble of having to swap them out twice or paying double the amount for labor.

 

WIth a lower offset you shouldn't have a problem with the tyres sizes you have mentioned, as I had 235/45/17's and 255/40/17's before on +38mm offset. No problems whatsoever.

About the springs, I can't say anything about Eibach as I haven't experienced them, but the Espelir's are the softest riding spring that I have experienced (they are currently on my Soarer).
