very nice setup. the exhaust inlets are 2.25 though...would you just make it fit?

I guess they just weld it to make it fit.

one thing I would be concerned about with going with 2.5" as oppose to 2.25" is that there has been many people saying that they lost some torque at the low end but gained some on the high end. Depending on what kind of driving you usually do, get the best diameter piping that suits your needs. For city driving...low end torque would be more helpful.

hmm I edited my #6 in my previous post to say this:

6. 2.5 inch piping that branches out into two 2.25 inch piping (a y-pipe to do this)

SC400 might be able to get away with 2.5" piping since their engines have more low end torque but I'm think the SC300 will lose some torque at the low end .

just to add my $0.02...when i put in 2.25" piping w/ my Magnaflows on my SC4, lost some low end torque as well...but after I did my BFI, seemed to get most of that back...and MUCH better mid and high range...

Anything gets louder with the BFI

Im planning to get a 3" exhaust piping from my downpipe all the way to my stock mufflers. No cats, no resonators, no pass the smog test

But hopefully I can blow fire out of my pipes during the smog test

Hmm...the exhaust may have gotten a little louder, but that was minimal. However, the intake has it's own nice low sound to it now. I played around with it, and there is a nice throaty sound (not too loud, but nice) when you really open her up. Esp. full throttle, nice sound to it. And since the SC is designed to really insulate against noise, it's not bothersome when in the car. (I've asked opinions of passengers, and no negative replies yet )

BFI is totally worth it...considering how inexpensive it is to do, and the gains from it are great...bumped me up an additional 2 mpg as well...

Hi nnnickkk here is the quote from the website on the hi flow cats

"49" State OBDII approved, California "Pre-OBDII" approved, which means to me unless you have a 92 SC those cats on the website are not legal in CA. I would hate to see you get your setup and find out you would have to re-do it. Just a heads up

"Pre-OBDII" - I'm pretty sure the SCs didn't go to OBDII until 96 (someone please correct me if I'm wrong), cuz, as far as I know, most cars went to OBDII in 95, but SCs didn't until 96...I've got a 95 SC4, and I've got OBDI...... can someone please verify (or correct me).....

LoL...there's always places where you can get u'r emissions hooked up...costs a pretty penny (one of my boyz has a turbo solara, so he has to get hooked up too, and last time it costed him like $200....)
