Well if you keep the bends to a minimum it is more like a 2.25 decrease at the bends and not a 1.5..Big bends on the piping yeah maybe.......I did go that way then later went to 2.25" mandrell piping and noticed no change in power..I probably should have saved the cash and kept my 2.50" mild bend piping intact....HAHAHAHAHAHHA livng is learning......

Mandrell piping is bank and the best, but bent larger piping is dirt cheap and effective also...Power difference between the two is not noticeable but the bends need to stream lined.....That is my take from experience...

What is the stock exhaust size on a 92 SC400???? I've been designing the exhuast in my head for the Tex's and thought it would be good to know the original tubing size.....

Thanks

the whole problem with crush bent piping is not the diameter that it necks down to, it's the way air flows... in the exhaust, you want a constant velocity, and consistently lower pressure along the route...

with crush bent exhaust, you have specific areas of high pressure right before the bends, and after, areas of extreme low pressure... not good for flow...

it also has to do with the way air flows... air will flow with minimal tumble and turbulence in a smooth pipe, however, once it comes to a restriction, it will be very turbulent, and reduce flow even moreso than the new diameter of the pipe...

turbulence causes a swirling pocket of high pressure that fights flow
