it means you'll have the cut the wire
i used the connectors that came with the S-AFC package for the ECU A/F wire
the rest i used vampire clips
what's the difference? I don't know but I don't care to find out
Dennis,
I didn't get any with mine ( bought it used) so I don't know which connectors they used. I was just going to use butt connectors, crimp the hell out of them, and then cover them in electrical tape. You think that would be ok?
any of you guys know how to wire up the knock wires for the hotwire cars?
Did you check the apexi website - it has the downloadable instruction manual so you may want to check in there. It is in PDF format so make sure you have Acrobat.

Thx again for all your help,
Jonny
get the right connectors for them. They'll cost less than a dollar
Sure, those'll work.
Put them on according to that picture on the first page.
That way, if you ever want to take off the SAFC, the airflow wire can be connected right back up.

Thx Alan - I will pick some up on my way to get it tuned. I am going to install it at the tuning shop as I don't know how to reset the S-AFC to factory settings and I don't want it to mess with the cars settings. Hopefully it will be a fast and smooth install.
Again, thank you dennis for guyiding me through this whole install.
I need someone to check their S-AFC settings for me so I can get mine tuned. VScSC400 has been helping me but he doesn't have access to his car right now.
Does anyone else have one they are using on their SC that could tell me one of the settings?
Johnny. If you have the whole thing wired up I think the next step is to take it to a dyno shop and have them help you with the remainder of the settings. I don't think would charge you. You've been trying to wire this thing up for weeks now and I'm concerned that you may short something out.
(arrow pointing from left bottom to right top) during closed throttle 0v-1v
(arrow pointing from left bottom to right top) during open throttle 3v-5v

** if there is no thorttle signal
lastly
be sure to set the throttle sensor type AFTER performing the (4)-d ((sensor voltage check)) for open and closed throttle voltage.

Dennis,
I just wanted to be 100% with the wiring before I installed it as I didn't want to mess anything up. It is now installed fine now I have all the colors. It is on the car right now, but I had to leave it at stock settings until I find out these settings I need.
Is the voltage check something that is done with the S-AFC or do I need to do that somehow myself?

Thx man,

of course you should leave the A/F settings at zero. I'm not saying that you should change the air flow settings.
Johnny I'm going to ask you to read the manual again carefully. It tells you exactly how to read the voltage off the S-AFC. For me to tell you would be just copying the text out of the S-AFC manual.
OK - now I see it. Sorry, I don't have the manual and it is hard to read it off the computer. I didn't want to have to print out 50+ pages but now I see that is the easier way.
Was wondering if someone could help me with a problem I am having with the S-AFC. For some reason it won't let me go into Karmann which is the sensor type I need for my car. It will let me access everything else except for it and it is driving me mad
Anyone have any ideas?? I can't get it tuned until I get it sorted out.
