Price check on 1996 SC400 (WHAT'S THIS CAR WORTH)
I have always liked the SC400's and I think I found one that I might want to take a shot at.
Its a '96 with 53,000 miles on it. I think its in good condition and it has the upgraded sound system (Nakamachi??).
What do you guys think is a resonable offer for this car? The guy doesnt have a set price (asking B.O) and I think he might let it go cheaply.
Thanks

If it has under 53k and is in good shape...... If you can get it for under 10k....... you'd be getting a deal of a lifetime
I have seen cars like this go for over 15k on eBay and elsewhere......
There is a guy with one like that near me.... he want's 17 to even think about it....

17k is a bit overpriced unless the car is in flawless mechanical and cosmetic condition...A range from 13-14k is more reasonable for a 96..The prices last year for a flawless 95 was around 14k, I don't see the market shifting much from last year to this year..It's unfortunate that SC's aren't worth much anymore..

17K for a 96? thats outrageous... It better have less than 10k miles and turbo or something. If it was a 97+ I can understand.
As for the 96 SC400, I think around 8-9k would be a fair price depending on body/interior damage

Is this car in PA? If it is, I looked at it last year and it was nice. The guy has had it on Auto Trader for over a year. When I looked at it last year it had 32K and the guy said he turned down $23,000! If its the same white SC400 I think the guy is fishing for someone to pay a ton of money for the car. Also, if memory serves me right....it is area code 856

Barry O, it is a guy with and 856 area code! However, he lives in NJ, in Williamstown to be exact. That is about 15 mins outside of Philly.
When I talked to him he wasnt very nice so I dont know if I'm even going to look at it.
I will keep searching.

Once I went to the local Lexus dealership and the salesman said to me " How much are you looking at spending?" I said " Around $20,000." So then he said "Well that narrows it down, doesn't really leave us much to work with." I nearly knocked the dude out.
Whatever happened to good old fashioned manners?
