Misfiring
I have been battling a misfire in my car for about a month now and have gotten absolutely nowhere with it.
It began as an intermittent problem with the car occasionally misfiring/hesitating while cruising down the highway. That occasional problem turned into an ongoing affair that has defied all attempts to remedy it.
I know that the miss is in cylinder #5. Pulling the plug wire on cylinder #5, while the car is running, does nothing while pulling the wires on every other cylinder makes the problem worse.
Leaving the plug wires on and pulling the injector cap on #5 does nothing while pulling the others makes it worse.
I have replaced:
Distributor cap and rotor, plug wires and spark plugs.
Today I pulled the upper intake manifold and swapped the injectors around. After I got it back together and fired it up, the miss is still on cylinder #5. I am now open to ideas and would appreciate any input.
