Maybe you just need to add some stuff with the TRD wheel......

What about the cruise control lever? Can't use it with the trd wheel unless you get creative...

So what's the solution? and what are the airbag light issues associated with trd wheel? airbag plug in direct?

Do 5Speed manuals have Cruise ? (I never looked when I was driving it, too busy trying not to loose the rear end with 500+bhp in the wet)), anyway that one is a Japanese track car (road legal) so Cruise wont really be an issue but it does look good in that "race cockpit".

Mine does. And the cruise works fine on my '01 wheel setup as well.

yea we got cruise, and it's great that CleanSC got a wheel that works, but my discontinued TRD black wheel does not have the room for the lever. Yea Bill, we got cruise in oem trim. I suppose I could use an aftermarket control system spliced to the oem connection and locate it elsewhere. Kinda need cruise to keep myself at the speed limit on my way to the track and shows...

Other hand side, anyone interested in a NIB TRD JDM supra steering wheel? Airbag/horn and all? Damn thing is expensive...

Here's a pic of mine. (I had help from CleanSC and Silversprucesc3. Thanks guys.) The wheel is from a GS400 and the airbag is from a 2000 RX300. I swapped out the cruise controls from my SC wheel and it works perfectly. I think it looks VERY OEM.

Nice thread as there are so many options open for us single stage airbag guys

BTW.... my contact in Japan keeps showing me JDM wheel/airbag setups and funny most
JDM wheels are single stage for some reason..??

One thing to remember is most if not all JDM wheels have no cruise control switch and neither does the TRD...

Most '01 - '03 Lexus cars will sport this wheel in many forms from leather, perforated leather, and wood in all kinds of color combos.

Jose, I thought your wheel came off of a Camry, is that correct?

Also, did you swap out the steering collum (sp) as well with the wheel?

Thanks!

Josh

Josh...

Yep, mine is a camry wheel. I didn't mention it because the Camry wheels don't come in black, but dark gray. So they either have to be rewrapped or painted. I am swapping to GS perforated soon, tho.

I have the factory steering column. I did paint the stock cover black to match, however.

Why didn't you use the original GS400 air bag that came with the steering wheel? was it post 2001 or was it just not available? The reason I am asking is because I see a difference in color between your steering wheel and air bag and I was wondering if that difference in color can be avoided. Thanks in advance.
