Hook up the NVH sensor probe to the Masteretch scanner with factory toyo software, take for test drive, make printout. By analising vibration pattern on the schematic source of the vibrations will be evident....

 

I will recheck the rear brakes, but I still dont think that is it........

This is hi-tech stuff and not everybody know how to use it or analise resoults, even at the lexus dealerships.
Most masters realy on feel and expirience in NVH matters. Not many understand science behind it.
You would have to find right equipement and operator combo....

I just mention stuff here from time to time to show you the proper ways and techniques JFYI

if your wheels spin freely by hand when the car is suspended and rotors don't overheat, you should probably eliminate brakes/wheel bearing problems..

 

You said your problem....almost 100% sure if was the rotor resurfacing...NEVER resurface on a luxury car..the money you save is not worth the potenetial problem...


you got a BAD resurface...someone did not know how to turn rotors correctly. Pain the #$%...

Buy new rotors and im pretty sure that most, if not all, of the vibration will go away.

 

I resurfaced the rotors myself as I have done 500 times before on all sorts of different cars, I rechecked the rotor runout and everything is o.k. with the brakes. I think this is going to be driveline related. I will let everyone know once I get this figured out.

 

How did it go? do you still have the vibrations?
I Think we have the same problem. I can feel it all the time but you can hear/feeel it best around 50-60. I´m thinking that it has to be something to do with the driveshaft. When I accelerate it´s there, if I put it in neutral at 50mphit´s still there but when I deaccelerate it gets worse!!
My car is a sc400 -95 with 69000miles on it.
Any advice??

I´ve had my car at the lexus dealer but they didn´t know what it was. Could it be that the two rubber pieces that connect the driveshaft are too old and becomes to hard so that the drive shaft cant flex?

 

any updates?? i starting to have a vibration problem also. i havent driven the car in like 3 months, so my tires might have some flat spots.....

 

dammit i have the same problem. I checked and one of my driveshaft bolts is different. So I am gonna order new drive shaft bolts to see how that changes and affects things!

 

I´m gonna take out all of my discs and have them checked.. Front and rear.. dunno whatelse to do..

 

Well, I have been having one of my master techs here working on my problem and we may have it figured out. I dont know how we overlooked this so many times, but the wheel on the right rear of my car has a bigger center hole in it than the other three. The other three fit snug up to the hub and there is no space. On the one though, there is almost a 1/4 inch gap around the hub (the hole on the wheel is too big??) I am going to get a hub centric ring machined out of aluminum sometime soon and see what that does. Either way, I will try to keep everyone posted as we work to getting this figured out.
