Question

Does $119 seem too low or too high for a complete set of silver emblems? I found new ones for $119 at http://www.autonetperformance.com/lexus/Parts/SC400.htm has anyone dealt w/ autonetperformance.com? What would the dealership charge for new set of silver, NOT GOLD, emblems for a 1992 SC300? Also, the SC300 emblem on the back had 2 prongs that go into the body. i was thinking about getting SC400 instead of SC300. Does anyone know if the SC400 has the same # of prongs and if they r in the same place? (in other words, could i get SC400 instead of SC300 w/o doing any modifications, drilling, etc.?) It is a 1992 SC300.

You can get a complete set of silver emblems from the dealer for about $89.
However, I wouldn't put SC400 emblems on a 300 because that would be kinda tacky.

i agree with hoops. why put SC400 emblems on your car if you have an SC300? why would you want to make you car something that it isn't...its like putting a M3 badge on a 318i.

Don't "Front" on your ride... An auto such as a SC3 is a very elite car, don't diminish it with bogus badging.

The complete set is less than $100 as stated.

Default Is it really that cheap?

Emblems are about AUS$350 in australia. For US$89 that's a bargain. Also We cant get real SC400 emblems. We have to buy the LS400 emblems and use what we can. Most people keep the "Soarer", but add the Lexus badges and logo, so there are all these soarer owners with spare LS400 badges.

Don't pay that much!

We sell the complete 4 piece set of OEM for $80 including shipping. Most of the time people buy these to get rid of a "gold package" from a previous owner.

This includes:

Front L Emblem
Rear L Emblem
Rear Lexus Emblem
Rear SC300 or SC400 Emblem

This is for the 92-96, 97-00 is $20 extra.

You can prepay with a check or money order. For the smaller items like this, paypal is ok, but visa/mc/disc/amex will have a small surcharge.

Please email me directly if you would like to arrange to get these. todd@tmengineering.net

Lou the rear two for the LS are $42 which will include shipping.

www.paypal.com

It's an online service that people use to send/receive money for purchases, auction payments, etc.

It's free to sign up and if you sign up I think you and one other reference person gets $5 free. It's totally legit, but I've come to the conclusion that they basically make their money by holding your money. Everything as far as money transfer takes 3-4 days electronically or a couple weeks if you want a money order mailed, during which time I think those bastards sit on your money and collect interest.

All you need is a valid bank account to sign up and then they do a couple electronic transactions to verify everything so you can be set up to use the service.

You can use me as your reference when you sign up *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge* for the free five bucks, but it can pretty much be anyone who has an existing paypal account.

Most of the identification on the service is done through people's email address, which is what they use as your "username".

Hmm I think that's it...anyone else can add to this if I missed something...

Putting SC400 badges on a SC300 is SUPER TACKY! Please don't go there!

But I'm thinking about doing a GS300 badge on my GS430 once I supercharge it. Is that tacky?

Guys, these badges are less than $100 total at the dealer. Going through all the stuff you're going through is puzzling. They're not expensive and they can have them in one day!!

Default emblem replacement tips

Todd hooked me up. I've replaced my dated gold package with the classic silver look. Anyway here are a couple tips.
1) If you have visions of selling your old emblems on ebay for big $$$, get over it. Most of mine were bent or broken after removing them (they're plastic).
2) Use masking tape around the emblem you are trying to remove.
3) After using fishing line or dental floss to loosen the emblem, use some sort of lever to pry the emblem from the vehicle.
4) It really helps to know where the pins are located under the existing emblems or you will break a lot of fishing line.
5) Clean area with Goo-off and polish before putting on new replacements.
