Default 19" wheels staggered or NOT staggered?

Whats up All-
I'm new to the site, this is actually my first post. I just bought a 96' SC400 and want to upgrade to 19" ADR Sterling wheels. What i'm trying to decide is if i should go STAGGERED? OR NOT STAGGERED? If you guys have any thoughts, advice or any experiences you care to share, I would greatly appreciate it!! Thanks a bunch!

Staggered is the ONLY way to go with the SC. I learned my lesson. I got me some staggered HP Evo's on the way.

BTW, nice choice in wheels. I like the Sterlings a lot. What finish are you going for? Chrome or diamond cut?

Are there any negatives of having staggered wheels? I know that you cant rotate the tires obviously. Also, how do i put a picture of my ride in my profile?

The only negatives are that you can't rotate tires (as you said) and the wider tires for the rear cost more. Everything else is a positive for a staggered setup.

Yea, about $100 more for rear tires is what its gonna cost me. I just gotta decide what I want to do......I'll say one thing though, this is my first Lexus, I've owned VW, BMW and Honda, and the Lex' is by far the HOTTEST and nicest car. Plus i picked this bad girl up for $11,800 and it only has 80k miles!!! Thanks for the advice!

No problem man. We are here to help. Sounds like you found yourself a great deal on your SC. Decent miles too. You may want to take a gander in the gallery. I remember seeing some SC's with Sterlings in there.

My vote is for staggered as well. It just makes the car look sporty but still has a luxury feel.

Well I've had a hard time finding something out there in a 19" that has the 35mm offset that the SC400 requires......anyone got any other 19" chrome ideas?

The SC doesnt require a 35 et, you could go higher than that. Whats your budget wheels and tires?

Default ADR...not too good quality

hey,

Congrats on the SC! I have an SC300 with staggered ROJAs 19X8.5 and 19X10.5 also...

Everyone is right...GO Staggered...

It looks soo much better...I have 19X8 Zaubers all theway around for daily rims on the SC300 and the staggered looks soo much better!

However, not to ruin your dreams of chrome 19s... but just to warn you from my personal experience...ADR chrome is pretty crappy...

I have 20" ADR Chrome Monellos on My LS400 and its only been 2 and a half years and the chrome is really deteriorated already... bubbling, flaking off and pitting... prolly have to buy a new set of rims already...

I also have chrome 20" Dronells on My GS400. I got them 3 months after the ADR... and the chrome is still in good condition!

Good luck...my suggestion is, if you are going with ADR, don't go chrome...Another brands that is pretty cheap are Stern wheels...(I dont know how good the quality is tho...)

JMHO...Good luck!

Well to answer the question of my budget, I can get 19" staggered ADR Sterling's wrapped in Nitto 555 tires for $1600 mounted. So I'd really like to keep it around that price or less. I'm pretty open to what brand of wheel to get, I would just prefer something more like a 5 spoke. Let me know if you got any ideas- Thanks
