Has anyone done a big brake upgrade on this car yet? If so, what system did you use and was it a pre-fab kit or a custom made kit? And how much was it?

I know a few of you out there have turbo'd their motors, I want to know if anyone did a FMAX or any other pre-fab'd stage 1 or stage 2 kit...how was the install? How's the reliability been so far? Please give any details...

For Brian - Do you know what your offset is on your 19" HRE's? Also, what width(s) are your rims?

the cheapest brake upgrade is the supra tt brakes...work VERY well for street applications...and usally like $800 for the front rotors and calipers.....as far as turbo kits toyomoto is the way to go...f-max has really crappy piping....manifold..and runs into alot of prolems....plus toyomotos kit is upgradeable...so as you want more power you can keep the same base set up and add more to make it faster....Jeff

manaray,

get the supra tt brakes like jeff suggested, and yes the toyomoto kit is bad ***, i can vouche for that! my rims are 8.5" wide all around and i believe a 45 offset, but they're off to HRE right now getting widened to 9.5" and 10.5".. =)

Thanks for the if SC300Turbo! $800 seems very reasonable. How much is a base level Toyomoto kit (stage 1)? Is the install pretty straight foward or is there a lot of extra modifications involved?

Brain - Thanks for the info! 10.5" in the rear? Is that even possible w/o rubbing?

Here's what I'm looking to do...but with 97 "sky blue silver" (I don't know the "official" color name)

Default remember...

Remember when choosing kits to tell the person what year your car is. Older SC's are shorter in length than the newer ones. I cant remember off hand when they did the change tho. This is why some pics of SC's are REALLY long and thin, whilst others are more compact/muscular.

Cheers,

Toan.

Any Pre-97 SC's need to buy some extra Factory Lexus parts before the kit above will fit. It's listed on their website but it's in Japanese. I can't read Japanese so I don't know exactly what parts they are. (FYI: world.altavista.com translation will NOT work because the text is actually part of a IMAGE, not just text.)

As far getting the kit, I'm attempting to line up some importation deals on this kit (and some others under their label) I'll keep you guys informed...
