seriously- I got two out in the garage... I will give them a weigh sometime, and let you know if 13.5 is accurate.

The Soarer guys are Aussies - maybe that was 13.5 Kilograms which may explain it.

6.1kg = 13.5lbs
13.5kg = 30lbs.

you guys can go to the planet soarer site and check the exhaust measurements section if you guys find it that hard to believe.

I've got no reason to lie...

OneHot: your mufflers must have been made out of lead because no way they were that heavy lol... The mufflers off my 92SC400 felt like something like the 15-20lbs dumbells i use.

I don't think anyone was accusing you of that. For all I know the other guy may not have eaten his Wheaties prior to lifting. LOL No worries.

The spare 16" steel rim with bridgestone all-season radial weighs 58 pounds. It is heavy and easily removed, so I keep it in my room to notice a faster launch!!

'93 GS300 16" black-chrome alloy wheel with dunlop SP9000 sports tire: 48 pounds. 10 pounds difference alone. Consider every pound on the wheel is worth 6 pounds of dead weight, thats a substantial difference vs. any car with steel rims.

Carbon fiber hood is one heck of a difference... too bad they cant be made solid and strong like a steel one though.

great post, i'm going to try and get my sc300 down to about 3200-3300lbs. (if the car weighs ~3750).

Does anyone know the factory weight? I know i'm going to remove my AC setup, spare tire, goto some light racing seats. Those 3 things alone should drop about 200lbs. Maybe i'm stretching it but who knows =).

Anyone know what the standard gas tank weighs empty? I'm entertaining the idea of a fuel cell.

And if anyone ask, i'm making a race car somewhat =).

I'm not too sure about that I'm guessing I've lost

supra driver = -20lbs
supra passenger = -40
carbon fiber hood = -39lbs (no gas shocks)
TT brake upgrade = -5lbs
TEIN HA's = +5lbs
TT spare = -20lbs
no mufflers = -27lbs

total weight lost = 146lbs
tools -5lbs
no spare - 38lbs

factory 92 SC weight = 3575
street weight = 3575lbs - 146lbs = 3429lbs
track weight = 3575lbs - 189lbs =3386lbs

way way far way to go

Is the curb weight of the SC300 about the same as the 400 or is it less?

This is a very usefull post and as i'm stripping stuff out i'll try and put a scale in the shop and take notes to add to this thread.

Anyone know what the weight of the following is?

Gas Tank:
AC System or parts of it:

Any other big heavy items? =)
