Let's try this again since nobody is following the link in my previous message. Give me your thoughts on the look as I haven't purchased the rims/tires yet. They are 18" wheels in 245/40/18 Kumhos.
To view additional pics my website address is at the bottom of the page.

Nice Coupe!!! The 18" wheels are nice too.. The interior is very clean...

What's up with the yellow fragrance tree in the interior pic?

I like the look of those wheels!

"Hoops" are you still playing ball now and where?

Post QUOTE from Hoops

You got me on the freshener IKON!
My wheels are 18" Konig Imagine and my tires are Kumho Ecsta 712's (Yeah I took the plunge!) So far I am very happy with them.
I "played" ball in 1991 with the Sacramento Kings. Believe me I was bench warmer and never got into a game. (I aint gonna lie to you). They called us hoop mannequins 'cause we didn't get to do anything.

No ball anymore. I have my hands full as a distribution manager in Pennsylvania. I do play for recreation though.

BTW, I have some much clearer pics at the site if you want to go back and take a look. Total of 19.

Hell, at least you got an exp. of a life time to play in the NBA and exp. a thrill to remember. (Your team played against Michael Jordan when you was a part of the team!!!) Obviously you had skills to get to the NBA in the 1st place. Treasure the moment... I would...

Did you get your Supra Ecsta from Discount tire online, they have them at about $129 in your size tire. I've heard they are very decent tires for the price in wear, grip, and road noise. The wheels, as I said before look great at a great price.

Question

Hoops where did you get and how much for the platinum emblems?

I bet they are sweet, I've never seen a Lexus with platinum badges.

Platinum is Platinum.... I know you've seen a platinum wedding ring.. If not go to a jeweler and compare platinum vs white gold and silver...

The platinum has a more brilliant luster with a deep rich appearance and this precious is much heavier and very expensive vs. silver and it's harder to tell from a "good" white gold ring.

As for emblems I have not seen them on a Lexus.

However, I'm very interested in seeing them on one.

Default Platinum Badges

I took the gold badges and had them dipped in platinum versus chrome. Why?? The difference in look is minimal, but they will never tarnish and are more resistant to scratches. The only reason I did it that way is because cost wasn't an issue; I had it done by someone I know who does plating so no charge. Would have been about $150 if paid for.
The pics don't do them justice though, they have a deeper look than the chrome. I'm also going to get my chrome window molding and entire antenna stalk dipped in platinum. It has a much brighter shine.

Peace

76ers? Sorry, I'm a die hard Kings Fan. I'm only here for the job. I'm originally from California and love my Kings and 49ers.

BTW, I noticed you have roots in Dallas. I was there as well. I worked in the Bass Towers off I-35 and Lemon Avenue awhile back. I believe the area was called Turtle Creek or something. (I heard the stories and I'm not like those guys!)

The tires I got for $140 each from a shop here calledAuto Addictions . Included mount and balance so I didn't bother with Discount Tire. Same for the wheels, I paid $10 more per wheel or $255 each but less hassle.

Hey guys,
I was thinking about changing my rims, especially after I saw hoops car(really sweet ride). I like that style but what concerns me is that the default rims on my sc400 are 16 inch alunimum lexus rims with 225/60/16 tires. My tires are on their way out so it kinda good. Here is my question, will the increase in the rim size and tire slow down the car. Meaning, an increase in rim and tires will affect the mpg therefore requiring for pressing of gas to make the car go hence making the car performance decrease while increasing the delightful look of the car not too mention 'more interests from car/rim thieves'?

please share your comments with me,
Webgod

Webgod,

The car's performance has been improved dramatically since I upsized my rims and tires. Holds the road better due to a bigger contact patch plus added stability. The diameter of my 18's is actually about 1 % smaller than stock 16's. Here is a link for a tire size calculator that you can use. Tire Calculator

You can purchase the rims @ Discount Tire for about $250 each. Be sure to get the 8.5" rim with the deeper offset. This will fill your wheel well out perfectly. The rims look even better in person. As for tires, mine are 245/40/18.

You only live once.....don't worry about thieves or you'll never have anything!

Hope that helps
