Angry Holy Crap Someone Help

Alright folks...
The back story: Few people stole my 1995 SC400 and ran it into a guardrail. I was going to do the repairs on it but it was going to take me a while... I found a great deal here in the state of minnesota for a 1995 SC400.

But I got friggin OWNED... After close examination after paying the guy in cash... I noticed that the car didnt have a passengers side airbag area. After being somewhat worried I ran the VIN one more time... and the VIN said 1995. I think they might have switched the VIN from a different car and that this is actually a 1992! Anyone know any SURE fire signs besides the following that its a 92 compared to a 95?

Signs on the car that it IS a 92:
Green climate/radio backlight
No Pass Airbag... not sure where the connector would be if they just replaced it with a 92 dash.

Signs that it MIGHT be a 95 with a lot of 92 parts:
Rear tailights are the 95's for sure.
Engine I believe is the 95's.

ANYONE KNOW WHERE ELSE THE VIN IS WRITTEN ON THE CAR BESIDES THE OBVIOUS PLACE OF THE WINDSHIELD? SOMEONE HELP... CLEARLY NOT MY GREATEST MONTH WITH MY CAR(S)

92-94 speedo clusters have white needles, 95+ have red
95-96 have a revised bumper, fog lights not cornering lights. I own a 94 so I don't know if you the fog light has a switch or button to turn them on. If you don't have a switch to turn on fog lights or if you have cornering lights instead most likely you have a 92-94.

I gave you all the of the locations that I know of where I've seen vins on my cars. Most cars have the VIN stamped on the engine block, (or firewall), specific location varies, but normally the engine block has the VIN on it. I wonder why

I had a cop pull me over a few weeks ago and he inspected my door jamb and my engine area comparing vins, what a tool.

The seatbelt tags also usually have the year on them.

That is not correct. My 92 has red needles.

EDIT: Well, maybe some might say they are more orange than red, but in any case, they certainly are not white.

it's probably a late year model around the crossover period. it would have white faced needles (which light amber) if it is a 92-94 style cluster. The mileage would also be greenish. On the 95+ clusters the needles are bloody red, and the mileage is amber.

none of this matters however since i have all different year clusters here and can plug any of them in and drive away.

this was in reference to them being off i think. The 92-94 needle covers are clear...thats why lls can do the waterfalls in whatever color you want on those. the 95+ cars have a red needle cover

Default Thanks

Thanks for your help a lot fellas I finally am sure that its a 1992. It is under going investigation and the minute that I have the legitimate title for the car, I will probably sell it cheap or just get my money back from the jerk that sold it.. or completely part the car out on club lexus since a lot of the parts are in excellent shape. Thanks again.
