pleaseeeeeeeeeeee show me a 250 hp hachi that can take a skyline... a 250hp hachi would consist of a fully built motor for that car. okay...so can a fully built evo, sti, or many cars take the skyline with the right driver.

and yes i know it's just a car, but if something deserves respect i will show it that.

okay..here's the point and case then... what sc/soarer can give the GTR a challenge? track, road, highway?

anyone want to go out and have some fun?

 

Stock for stock a SOARER(not a rebadged sc300/400, but an actual 1JZ Soarer) will hang with a stock GT-R in the straights(I tried this when i got my Soarer). Add in active suspension(a factory option) and 4WS(another factory option, albeit a very rare one and only on V8 models), and you have a RWD Skyline with a plush interior. Naturally in the turns the Skyline is going to pull away, but thats what i expect in AWD.
Heres a question:
Who wins between the Original Audi Quattro, and any Skyline GT-R.
I hate to say it, but Audi did everything that Nissan did, except they did it almost 10yrs prior. Not only was the Quattro banned from rallys, but so was the A4 Quattro from the British Touring Car Championship because it was unbeatable. Just like the GT-R except they did it alot sooner.

I almost forgot: If you want to see the 250ps Hachi's kicking an R34's ***, it was that series that comes out of Japan with Tetsuya and the other guy reviewing people's and manufacturers cars. I cant for the life of me remember what its called though.....

 

Found it: Best Motoring was the show and they werent 250ps. ~160ps and ~200ps.

I've got the same views as the others as in *why put an RB26 into a Soarer*, each to their own, and I respect that... at least it wasn't an RB25 otherwise I'd think of the owner being on some funny drugs...

but audi has not done everything the gtr has done. it was only after if i remember correctly.
well obviously it's a battle to be the best so ofcourse the skyline is going to be beat after a while. but does it make any that's your'e talking about a company that make 500hp cars from the factory compared to japanese cars that make "280hp?" Plus i don't remember when i saw an audi and skyline battle... plus you need to remember every organized race has rules and limits.

skylines have also been known to be under rated in hp and are actually making around 300hp. you might have thought you hung around, but that oculd be a matter of personal opinion. you could think being 3 cars behind and him not pulling is "keeping up."

2jz can somewhat be compared to the rb26 motor to motor.

2.5 liter vs a 3.0 would make some sense. but a 2.5 vs, a 4.17 doesn't really.

 

Well the great thing about being an individual is that i dont have to care about what anyone else thinks. You worship the GT-R, I dont. I have to live with these damn things anyways. You can think of a Skyline like you would a Mustang in the states. Some are fast, and alot arent. Dont get me wrong, i have full respect for the Skyline, as a car. As a deity, not quite.
On a side note, ill let you know when i start to care if you believe me or not regarding anything said here. What the hell is the 2.5 vs 4.17 about???

 

somewhere down the line a thread about a soarer with an rb26 swap got turned into a skyline vs. supra thread, and im not worshipping the gt-r, im just saying that a stock sz vs.stock gt-r, the gt-r is a better all around car, it outperforms the supra in almost every way. facts are facts

First off, i apoligize for jacking this thread about 40 posts ago. Secondly, reamemiya, i hope everything goes alright with your Skyline and it turns out to be everything you want it to be. If you ever decide to bring it back to the homeland let me know. Lastly, i apoligize for putting things in your mouth. i hereby promise not to put anything in your mouth. Please resolve my ignorance by explaining your 2.5 vs 4.17 argument.

 

i agree, not trying to pick a fight here, but all i can gather from this is 2.5 as in 1jz, or rb25, but what the hell is a 4.17? a 3uz-fe or what? please enlighten me as to where your going with that

Just to clarify for people that dont know, the RB25 is 2498cc and R26 is 2568cc. While the newer Audis come with the 4.2L V8, the A4 Quattro that was banned only had a 2L n/a engine, and the even older quattro sport was only ~2.1L Turbo. The A4 never came in V8 to my knowledge.
