Default $500 for a window regulator???

Am I missing something? This parts site wants nearly $500 for an SC300 window regulator. I thought that part was supposed to be significantly cheaper than that. It's just a motor with cabling on it for Pete's sake. It's not solid gold or anything.

yep, you'll be missing $500 if you decide to replace it.

Well good grief. I think I can get my local shop to do the whole job for only slightly more than that. After reading various threads about repair (including O.L.T.'s clever JB Weld thing), I may just pay someone else to fix it. It looks like a big pain in the *** to me.

my passenger side window is just lowering/closing alot slower than my driverside..

is it perception? or electronics?

doesn't look like that part snapping has to do with the speed of the window..

if it is in fact the regulator which went bad (which is common with SCs) and your dealer wants to charge you an arm and a leg let me know. i'll give you the number of my place or you can call carson toyota. it's an easy DIY for an hour.

I had mine fixed for approximately $375, including parts and labor.

Hmm, if I can get it that cheap here, I'm going to pay someone else to fix it. I'm not real enamored of spending a weekend with both hands inside my car door, blindly trying to install something I've never messed with before.

So my next project is: new trunk struts!

Luckily we have a place here in K.C. that specializes in Lexi, and they charge$75/hr of labor. Maybe a search for a similar place in Cali is in order??? Good luck!

I just replaced mine.... One Lexus dealership told me over 500 but THEY wanted to replace the motor as well because they said it comes together with the regulator Called another lexus dealer he quoted me a better price to fix just the regulator and their parts dep. said the regulator and motor DO NOT come together.
