Suggestions? new guy help
If its cherry and the mileage is right, it's a whole lot of car for $12,500. I've got the window sticker for my 97 SC3 and it listed for about $44 k, so I'm guessing your SC4 must have been another 4 - 5 K. I basically traded a fully loaded 2001 Escape XLT for my SC3 and i still can't stop smiling. The Escape had 46k miles and the SC3 had 36k.

You and I both. I also don't like anything jimmyrigged or hokie on my car. What I was suggesting was simply a less expensive route, not a "cheesy" route (for lack of a better term). But if you're in a position where you can absorb the dealer's inflated prices then don't worry about it, the peace of mind is worth the extra cost for some. I saw a Lexus SC300 antenna on fleabay for $17 and a set or trunk struts for $40. There was no replacement mirror that I could find. Good luck though, and check out the gallery section for pics of some hooked up SC's.
BTW, show the gallery to your son, he'll love it!

The three problems I had w/ my rig (side mirror, trunks shocks and antenna) have been repaired (by me!) for a about a week and the thing is absolutely sweet. Thanks to the forums I was able to get tips on how to make the fixes. And, I did not screw anything else up!
New Question: The stereo (Nammomma) does not have lights at night on the AM, FM TAPE and CD. Are those buttons lit normally? At night it's a real bear to go from radio to cd.
Please advise.
I did a clay bar deal on the car, and though I wouldn't have bought white, the car is beautiful, and is really a good color for Florida.

I'm sure there are a few more, but still not enough.
