Default knocking noise

I have a sc300 lowered with eibachs.. i have been hearing a knocking noise when i go over bumps coming from right rear shock and it sounds like its coming form the top of the strut tower, i just had the a mechanic check it out, and he said that there seemed nothing wrong and no parts missing.. he thought that it could be my shocks bottoming out and told me to replace them .. anyone hear or encounter this problem before

If the shock is not leaking. Look at the upper shock mount.

i have tein coilover with edfc setup in mine. i'm hearing this noise from the rear right and both fronts whenever going over bumps at slow speeds. everything seems tight, but i'm going to have to put it on the lift and make sure. i'll let you know. keep us updated if you find out first.

Check your bushings and make sure they have not completely wore out and which is creating suspension play which might be make a knocking noise...Lower and upper control arm bushings...

How many miles on the shocks and are they stock? Another reason could be that the springs are touching each other when they are compressed. Also, probably not, but check to see if the endlinks are tightened.

Yes its a bad shock. I'd replace it soon. Cant have a lowering spring with a stock shock.
