hey guys, I'm looking for the part numbers for:

1. 92-96 radiator supports
2. 92-96 High and Low AC lines and condensor

I recently got into a car crash. I have heard that cars below the year of 1997 have to change their AC system to a current one. Is this all true? my AC lines were damaged from the accident.

edit: are we supposed to swap out our entire AC system or just the condesor for a newer EPA approved system/condensor?

 

U just switch from R-12 to 134 - should cost about $150 to do. I think mine was done for about $100. Not exactly sure what all is swapped though.

you dont need to retrofit to 134a if you dont want to. if you retrofit from R12 to 134a with the current A/C components you could end up with an A/C system that produces less than satisfactory air. now if you change every component ie: compresssor, lines and the refrigent metering device to 134a components system results will be diffrent. this is because the R12 system components arent designed to run with the use of 134a refrigent. ok i'll save my time and tell you my opnion
1: for a quick fix you can retrofit to 134a keeping your old R12 components which will be cheap now, but wont be the most reliable.
2: fix the system and go back to R12 which will be reliable and maybe just possibly more expensive in the end since less R12 is being produced.
3: switch to all 134a components and retrofit to 134a your system will work perfect

#1 is the cheapest if you are doing the retrofit with one of those kits._least reliable
#2 is more expensive since you have to buy R12 (costs about 20$/lb our a/s system needs almost 2#'s)_ realible
#3 probably as expensive as #2 could be less than 2 but u gotta get all new parts (134a costs about 2-3$/lb) also relaible.

i have a pretty good understanding of auto a/c systems i am 609 certified so i can buy r12 and such... if you have any questions pm me or something! also if your not doing any work your self careful not to get ripped off!

 

Thank you very much! I was going to have my body shop replace the condensor. That is about it. They have R12 over there and kinda run it "behind the back."
