Default RX330 rims on SC

hi everyone, if i am not wrong i think i saw a SC that has some RX330 rims in this forum before, but now i can't find that thread no more, can anyone give me a little help here. i am trying to find out what size the rims are and how they that person put those rims on since i think the bolt pattern is different than the SC.

Well, I happen to have an RX330 and the stock 6 spoke 17" rims are 17x6.5" with a +35mm offset. That is a little narror for an SC IMHO. The optional 5 spoke 18" rims are 18X7" with a +35mm offset. That is doable since the stock SC rims are 7.5" wide as well. Bolt pattern is the same with other Lexus and other Japanese cars at 5X114.3 (Or as some say 4.5").

This is probably my 100th post on wheel offsets, does no-one ever look at wheel offset when replacing their rims?

35mm Offset rims on the SC/Soarer/Supra will turn the steering to ****, they should be 50mm, 45mm at a push otherwise you will encounter tramlining and kickback through the steering wheel, do a search on "scrub radius" to understand how wheel offset affects the steering geometry.

My stock rims were 8" wide.

Sorry, I meant to type in 7.5" for the SC rims not 7":. Eitherway which SC came with 8" wide stock rims? Looking at intellexual.net is says 7.5" for the SC4 and 6.5" for the SC3. Were there option rims for the SC?m However, doing a local search I see some people say their stock rims are stamped 16x7 on the SC4 so now I'm not sure. I just bought my SC so I'm sitting on stock rims so I guess I probably should have only talked about the RX330 rims since I had that car for over a year. I have much to learn about the SC yet.

I do, but that wasn't the question asked. He just wanted to know what the size and offset of the RX330 rims where. I'm not planning on putting RX rims on my car.

By the way, I read a lot of your posts while doing searches so I do appreciate your input and knowledge. As far as adverse affects with lower offsets on the SC particularly, from what I read I like everything about it except for the tramelining part. My other daily driver is a sports car with a manual steering with razor sharp turn in and feedback. That I like. I know the Lexus supposed to be a GT type car, but I'm going for more of the feel I get in my sports car. I definately don't mind a stiffer ride and firmer steering feel. Tramelining is the major issure right now since none of my other car even with lower offsets had that effect. On all my other cars I could take my hand off the wheel and it would track straight even with lower offset. My other cars had stock offsets in the +60 and +65mm ranges so you can bet most of my rims were much lower offsets than stock. Yes, I know the math and geometry says the scrub raduis will be different and it will change the steering geometry and feel. Now like you said, it is a matter of personal opinion of one likes those changes or not. My one and only question is will tramelining be a garantee on the SC with lower offsets or just a posibility? I'm planning on running 19X8.5" with a +38 up front. I drivein other Lexus cars with more agreesive (Meant lower offsets) than that and have not felt any tramelining. Is teh SC just that much more sensitive than the GS and LS?
