AaronE, yeah my front tint is 50% so that's definitely less than 88% light transmittance. I got a 10% discount for tint in my registration packet so this fix it ticket only means I'm going DARKER the next time around.

Panda, yeah I always have bad luck like this come meet time but I intend to contest the ticket first by declaration, then in court. If nothing else, I'm hoping the judge allows me to go to traffic school, even though I just finished traffic school a month ago

Tony and Lee, sorry you guys got pushed to the back, but there really wasn't much anyone could do at 10:30. The meet parking was first come first serve and Glen had posted several times for everyone to show up as early as possible, so it really was a frenzy to get in as early as 8:30am. We try to make accomodations for the long-distance members, but no one heard from you guys until you showed up. I would have saved you guys two spots front row next to my car if I knew you guys were coming in late. Even though you guys didn't get front-row exposure at the meet, I think every one of the SC guys checked out your rides, and A LOT of people were turning heads when you guys made your entrance so it wasn't as bad as it may have seemed. As far as GS guys giving you looks, I know 90% of the GS guys at the meet and they are all awesome people of excellent character and very friendly too. Maybe whoever you're talking about was just caught off-guard and instinctively reacted to someone next to his car. I don't know, but I know people aren't jerks like that around here---at least they don't mean to be .

Anthracite, man that really sucks. At least now I don't feel as bad. So you were cited at 100mph? That's a 2-point offense I was pretty bummed the whole meet, that ticket was like a black cloud over my head the whole day.... between that and last year's Carson, I began to question why I sitll come to these meets, but you can't let the bullsh!!t run your life so I try and let it go. I'll definitely be stressin the whole next month until I get the outcome of this ticket though...I already barely afford my insurance as it is

 

When you go to court and the Judge doesnt show you lieniency. (is that spelled right?) just say to him that the radar guns have a + or - 1 mph error factor and ask that he bring it down to 99mph....ITS A WHOLE DIFFERENT story when its below 100....you get 1 point no chance of traffic school and prob a $375 fine...but its a hell of a lot better than 2 points, license suspended for minimum of 30 days and a $1700 fine....trust me I know...I got busted for the samething down the grapevine =\ last year about this time. g'luck with that

Right, but did he measure it? It is the prosecution's burden to PROVE that it is less the 88%, not your burden to prove that it wasn't. As long as you don't admit the 50%, they can't prove it was less and they can't force you to testify. Feel free to contact me off list if you want help.
SMD = Surface Mount Diode. They are really small LEDs. In the ClubLexus context, they are tiny lights that OLT puts on your gauge needles.

...and as far as the tint ticket goes, he asked me how dark it was and I told him it was 50%

The SC in the 3rd pic down from the top, what kind of lip is that? It looks real clean. Is that a 97+ front bumper? Anyone have anymore side and rear shots of that car? Thanks

 

So wait, are you saying that he didnt use a radar at all? Then did he drive up behind you and match your speed to give you a ticket? I'm still trying to figure out what exactly happened. I used to speed my *** off b4.. but now I keep it in the low 100s after getting a very close call. I was doing 140 in a 45 and the cop was on the other side and he saw me speeeeeding past everyone so he pulled me over to basically check if my car was stolen. Thank god he didnt have his radar on or I dont know where I'd be right now. What I'm trying to say is that without a radar gun, you dont get accurate speed. If he followed your speed behind you then thas a different story.

Thanks for the info. The front lip is soo clean. The sides look decent, but can't really tell. I'd love to see pics of the rear and sides better.
