Originally posted by MeehSoFly Ever since i owned my 92 sc400...i haven't seen the gas light come on. Does it come on on ur last E line
or when it actually touch or pass the E. This kinda scares me when i get to the last e mark and drive for
a while with no gas light on...so i fill it up. Just think its kinda wierd and maybe my gas light is gone.
anyone have any clue?

Set your trip meter at 0 and try to get to 420 miles... it will be on for sure by then...unless you drive like a nut then you will see it sooner....hehe
Mine isn't an SC or a 92 unfortunately. But my '02 GS has the Levinson and the light comes on at exactly 28 miles to go per the Trip Mileage info. (this is slightly above "E" for me).
I just wanted to advise you guys that running the tank to empty is very unhealthy for your car.
Over the years that you've had the car, all the crap in the thousands of gallons you've put in has settled to the bottom of the tank.
You're now taking all that crap and sucking it out.
Even though the fuel filter catches most of the larger sized garbage, it does let through liguid contaminants.
Do your SC a favor and fill up if you get below 1/4-1/8 tank.

Hey have you tried to going past 28 miles....im sure that you would run out...most of the newer models are very pretty exact or within a mile or so....
my gas light comes on when the needle hits "E" exactly. I continued to drive to test it out and got about another 12 miles before I started to sputter, luckily a gas station was right on the corner.
