Hey I have an interesting question. I have a Fidenza 9# FW for another car and I'm selling it. However the friction plate needs to be replaced before it can be used. Fidenza recomends that you do NOT machine the old plate but rather replace it (its bolted in by approx 30-40 bolts and nuts). So I have ordered this new plate but it is on back order for quite sometime. So basically I just want to have a machine shop make me a new friction disk. I have talked to all the local machine shops and even the Hi Perf shops that do balancing a blue printing and no one will touch it. Basically b/c they don't know what kinda of material it is.

So my question is, dose anyone actually know what the material is. I know it must be a very temp resistant material and is very brittle and hard. My intial thoughts were a type of carbide steel but I now wonder if that would be to hard and destroy clutch disks like mad.

well i dont know for certain either but if i remember correctly from the few that i have installed they come with either a carbon material or a coated steel piece...i may be wrong but from the hondas, nissans, etc. there were a few choices depending on the car and such. good luck on finding the parts id try searching online for another supplier than could get ahold of the pieces sooner than the place u went to in the first place
