Fred are you sure? 3.0 divided by 4.0 is .75. Which mean 3.0 is only 75% of the 4.0. Therefore the 4.0 is 25% larger than 3.0. Slup me twice if i am wrong again.....

To make 4 liters out of 3 liters, you need to add 1 liter (4-3 =1).
Thus, you add 1 liter to 3 liters.
1 out of 3 is approximetely 33%.

Final formula is (33%)(3 liters) + 3 liters = 4 liters

Please bring a number 2 pencil and calculator on Friday, we will have a short quiz then

I'm happy someone is finally stepping up to the plate and Turbo'ing the SC4. Is this being done solely as a one-off project or is this being designed with the potential of turning it into a marketable kit? Don't get me wrong, I don't want to slow down developments by asking a bunch of questions that will impede progress, I'm just wondering if the final bulls-eye to this project is to share the wealth from your fruits of labor or to simply do it b/c it hasn't been done (at least "done correctly" as all CL'ers would agree with).

Anyway, keep up the good work. And good luck.
Peace,
Dix

he's actually right... 3 * 33% = 3 * 1.33 = 3.99

25% larger than a 3 liter engine would be 3.75 liters

but anyhow, it has more displacement, and 2 more cyliners so who really cares

I think the correct equation is

verylost + any flammable = kaboom

Have I not told you the time I set myself on fire or the time I blew up my computer?

33.33%... great... that mean with the V8... you will make 33.3% more than your 2JZGE motor at a given boost.

Got some time and material at home and did some prototyping. However, i couldnt finish it because my welder gas went out. Right now the SC400T look very raw, but once its grinded down and coating. It will be like day and night. Here is what i got:

Here is a finished product after its high temp coated. These pipes are for my LS400T. Looks a lot better

Output for any given amount of boost is the result of system efficiency. The 2JZGTE systems have nice exhaust headers and the cam timing, cylinder head flow, intake manifold flow, and other variables... may mean that their is a definite difference in flow efficiency. After all, boost is the measurement of pressure from forcing a given amount of air mass through a given systems ability to flow that mass PLUS the heat added to that mass.

Cooler charger = more power at any given boost level (same engine).
Improved efficiency = more power at any given boost level (same engine).

So, it is too early to compare the 2 engines. That said, in theory, all things being equal (planets aligned etc) a 4 liter engine should make 33% more power than a 3 liter. Or to confuse some further... the 3 liter should make 25% less power than the 4 liter
