On the flip side my old Probe GT had no spoiler and it was rock solid stable at 140MPH(GPS verified).

Apples and oranges though.

Also, stability at high speeds isn't just a simple function of having a spoiler,. Other variables include suspension, alignment, etc.

Sometimes if you just close your eyes and wait a few seconds, you can really notice if the car is pulling or feels like it is "floating over the road" I have that problem with my MG..... Can't seem to fix it properly.

It's just an old car that looks cool but can go fast..... and you can die fast too,,,,

see now I am starting to think about subframe connectors.,........

Nothing was as scary as driving my B16 powered CRX over 100 MPH, that little car was ready for takeoff at any speed over 90 MPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.

well if thats the case, why would they make aerodynamically functional kits for cars period? if you're going to make those types of body kits, might as well make it for all your cars.

too make money as opposed to wasting it in R&D wind tunnels

On a side note,

I have been looking for a functional front bumper/lip and rear spoiler as I will eventually be at power levels (800ish) where my tires are going to need the down force to help gain traction. Where should I turn? I wouldn't want to run a wing 24/7 but i guess wholes in my trunk would suck too.

Try BOMEX full body kit.

There is hugh difference between stock & BOMEX full body kit.
I was quite surprised how stable it was on the first drive after the body work.
It was more stable than my Z32TT at same speed.

Unfortunately, I had to slow down because air got under my CF hood and it was lifting back hinge of the CF hood. I ended up getting the hood pins week after.

Now, I do not have to worry about loosing my hood.

why are we concerned about downforce at 120mph? Even my 86.5 supra was perfectly stable at over 120mph...

I think if your experiencing instability, you may have problems with your suspension, tires, alignments and even bushings etc.

Last sunday I took my 300 to 115mh on Lake Shore Drive (curvy) and it was no problem, This past saturday I hit 125mph on I-290 (not too curvy) and also no issues with stability and I don't have a spoiler or bodykit at all.

I had the full bomex kit on my car and I couldnt tell a difference with it on or off. I ended up taking it off and leaving it off because I thought it was too gaudy.

My gt wing produced a significant amount of downforce. Since I have taken it off and now have no wing it is very noticable how the car acts on the highway
