How do i disable the "Trunk Release" WITHOUT a key????
Basically heres the story of why i want to disable the boot lock near the interior trunk release latch.
"The previous owner broke the original key in the ignition because it would not turn an start the car (thought it was jammed solid, forgot the steering wheel was locked an needed a little shake, idiot)! Well anyways, he had to get a new ignition barrel and so a new key with it. Now this key only works in the ignition barrel.
The other key however opens up everything else and works fine, BUT it will not unlock the Boot Lid Lock from inside the car, it seems to go in all the way but will not turn the lock itself to the "open" position! We almost broke the key when we nearly got it stuck in the interior keyhole whilst trying to unlock it when we went to see the car.
SO... how do i overcome this problem? Coz i really wana be able to open my bootlid from inside the car and not have to get out everytime and use the keys.
Does it need yet ANOTHER key or is it gona have to be a change of lock? Or is there a simpler method?"
I have heard of people saying that if i get behind the lock itself then there are some wires there which i should connect to "short" the lock out. Does any 1 know if this is true? If so which wires are we talking about???
Please help... i hate having to find the other key ALL the time and now my alarm is playign up aswell so the car doesnt alway open either!!!!!!eek1:
Thanks for the help.
P.S. Before some muppet comes along and starts whinging about using the "search" feature then iv already tried it... so unless you can use it and find me some info on these wires then save your breath.

That was EXACTLY what i was lookng for. Just managed to do it today and it worked spot on. I figured the best way to do it is to just move the metal band out of the way and then just press the little black button behind it.
If you know how to take the panel off and get to the back of the lock then it'l take you about 15mins at the most.
Once again a BIG BIG shout going out to /Aerostar\ for pointing to that thread. I saw that you did a search but as good as that info was it was unfortunatly in the wrong thread. I would never have looked in there for this problem.
Oh well, glad I could help
